I don't know why but I have been fascinated by anime and manga ever since the beginning of this year. So, I will be drawing them quite often and I think I should start uploading pictures to deviantart instead of stuffing them all here XD. Introducing Getbackers :~ ;;;; ;;; ;;;;;;;; ; *swt*

Natsumi - the waitress

Kazuki - a guy who looks like a girl which is what the artist intended it to be
I dedicate this picture to Karie-chan XD!

Ginji - he is a nice person

Ban - a pervert guy but I love his friendship with Ginji...not the gay kind...the really friends kind k...

Akabane - some mysterious guy who keeps smiling and enjoys killing people
Some guy by the name of Luc likes him very much~~! Dedicated to you then XD

Makubex - computer genius guy

Himiko - uh, I dont like her short pants...that is why I didnt draw it here

Hevn - ah yeah...she is always exposed but not in the anime *phew*

Shido - I dont really fancy him though =(

Copied this from the manga

another one...it is a continuation

Infinite Castle residences

That is the end of the tour for this series. I am so interested in Lucky Star now, thanks to Karie-chan and Vampire Knight is nice for the art *must draw one day* and I guess that is all for now. Michele Ng, I am still thinking of what picture to dedicate to you for your bithday presento...=)

FINALLY~~~ I think Mozilla Firefox likes blogger dashboard! Alright, here are some things I did...Let's meet some of my uni friends XD!

Si-min. She loves, loves...(is there another better word than love?) AKAME from Kat-Tun. Go check out that Japanese boy band!

Anusha. Her favourite new words are 'Baka', 'Iko', 'Urusai', some chipmunk version of schizophrenia and...it is endless, seriously =.=; XD

Rita. She is from Indonesia :)

Angeline. Has the same Dell laptop as mine but her doesn't seem to crash so many times. Haha.

Sha-lene. Started the Only Child (O.C.) group on facebook.

Lau....something something >.<; But I normally call him Lau or 'boyfriend' if he calls me 'girlfriend'. Every girl is his 'girlfriend' at this rate he is going. XD

Joanne. She has nice curls and a very sweet look :D.

Kaireen. Good sense of fashion and is a part time model. Has an online blog shop and LOVES to shop online be it window shopping or the buying shopping.

Jean Ee. She is a funny girl. There was once she wore bikini cuz her clean undergarments were still wet. Hahaha..XD She is cute ^^

Esther. She is very reliable when it comes to assignments and studies. I didn't know she likes to read manga and read Harry Potter fanfics...too~~!!! Yay! High 5!

Poh Sim. Just like Kaireen, has an online blog shop and loves to shop online. Loves watches...

Some random girl that is suppose to look like me but I doubt it does XD.

Taken the Lrt and passed by Pasar Seni before? I love the drain wall there! They used to have one big patch of beautiful grafiti but now it is painted with white paint. However, they started grafitizing it again! YAY! Ahh shh....don't say I support them ;)

Jean Ee asked the shopkeeper for the whole stack of this MarMee train thing. I wonder how is she doing with it now :D.

Chess set from Bali up close in Sha-lene's house.

The whole chess set. I am pretty sure Dr. Goh from Help Psychology Department would be interested in this XD.

Oh yes another drawing of Death Note. I am still practising on it. Recently, I have been drawing other anime/manga characters too~! This wasn't really well drawn :(

I found this beads interesting. Cat, cat paw, yarn and a book? I suppose...it says wish on a star (picture of a star).

Ah cute chair pendant! This would be first thing I so want to carve if ever I get my hands on wood and a carving tool.

Alright, that is the end of the stuff I did at the moment. Will update again with pictures!

People spend tens or hundreds of thousand dollars to go to university and some even cross the oceans to be educated in a foreign land. For most of the students studying overseas, this would be the only opportunity for them to remain in another country for a long enough time in the name of education until it doesn't feel like a holiday anymore.

I was answering an online survey one day and one question asked "Why do you go to university?" and some of the options were:
  • I was interested in the subject and wanted to learn more
  • It is a requirement for my career
  • Family's expectation of you
  • It was the normal thing to do

Honestly, I thought long about it and I didn't really know the answer. It was a bit of everything so I ticked the last option.

But what is education?

"The whole art of teaching is only the art of awakening the natural
curiosity
of young minds for the purpose of
satisfying it
afterwards
" ~Anatole France
“The aim of education should be to teach us rather how to think, than what to
think - rather to improve our minds, so as to enable us to think for ourselves,
than to load the memory with thoughts of other men.”~Bill Beattie

The default textbook answer would be to study or learn. But if we just needed theoretical knowledge, we could just go to the library. To which my friend replied "But the library doesn't give you accreditation"

It seems that education now is solely to prepare you for employment. After all, why do some parents object what their children want to pursue? Mostly because there is low pay or employability or maybe its not so professional and therefore less honourable. Occasionally, they would also discourage you to pursue studies which would lead you to a job that is really boring, for example an actuarist or an accountant from what I heard. It is good to note that they care about your wellbeing. However, what seems like a discouragement is actually a test of how determined you want to do what you want to do, that is if you already know what you want.

Have you ever felt like you want to study after an exam? You just developed a tiny interest in the subject but didn't bother continuing because it wouldn't count towards your grade anymore now that the exam is over?

Girl: How do you feel now that PMR is over?
Sanjay: I feel happy and yet sad because when I feel like studying, I realised there is nothing to study (for).

Sad, isn't it?

So, education has been defined as the awakening of the natural curiosity so that one would think for themselves, and as a result learn.

However, when I share my thoughts with my friends, this is what they say:

"Don't think so much. Your head will get too big...Isn't' it torturing?"
"Wah...but don't think too much wor"
"You are thinking too much"

If the aim of education is to make you think, why do people think that thinking is bad?

I once heard that people who live by the beach die younger because when they look at the ocean, they tend to contemplate a lot and get depressed. I don't know how true is it though. When people post their thoughts on their blogs, they are often labeled 'Emo'. It seems that many people assume that thinking too much will lead to depression. That really depends on what you think about. For me, I am enlightened when I think.

to be continued...

PS I am writing this because God has placed this very strong in my heart to share and has intensified that desire when I later received emails from my friends blaming the education system for their immaturity and saying that there is nothing much to look forward day after day. My mother also sent me an email stating that the reason Jews are so powerful is education. And also Michele was self-confessedly randomly mentioning of her laziness to update her blog.
